Research into the meaning people make when they sense the presence of someone who has died.

Hello,

We are sending you this email to invite you to participate in our study. The study aims to investigate the meaning people make when they sense the presence of their long-term partner who has died to further our understanding of people’s experiences following bereavement. The study will only take approximately one hour and will involve either a face-to-face interview at a location convenient to you or an interview over the telephone. The findings of this study will hopefully inform Clinical Psychologists and other health professionals who are working with people who are distressed by their experiences of grief.

The study has been reviewed and approved by the Lancaster University Division of Health Research Ethics Committee. In addition, we sought and were given permission by the moderator of this group to advertise this study. We shall be collecting data between now and January 2010, and will provide feedback to the discussion group when the research is complete. We would we grateful for as many people to participate as possible.

If you have been bereaved in the last three years from losing your long-term partner and would like to take part in the study or would like to discuss any aspect of the study prior to deciding whether to participate, please make contact via the following email address:

c.keen@lancaster.ac.uk

Best wishes,

Hello,

We are sending you this email to invite you to participate in our study. Following our previous advert we are now widening our recruitment to include people who have sensed the presence of someone who they were close to after they have died to further our understanding of people’s experiences following bereavement. The study aims to investigate the meaning people make when they have these experiences. The study will take approximately one hour and will involve either a face-to-face interview at a location convenient to you or an interview over the telephone. The findings of this study will hopefully inform Clinical Psychologists and other health professionals who are working with bereaved people.

The study has been reviewed and approved by the Lancaster University Division of Health Research Ethics Committee. We shall be collecting data between now and January 2010, and will provide feedback to the discussion group when the research is complete. We would we grateful for as many people to participate as possible.

If you have been bereaved in the last three years by losing someone you felt close to and you would like to take part in the study or would like to discuss any aspect of the study prior to deciding whether to participate, please make contact via the following email address:
